OPERATING ENGINEERS

An operating engineer operates or repairs and services construction equipment used in the building or demolition of roads, dams, buildings, and power plants. An operating engineer also processes materials used in the production of sand/gravel, concrete, and asphalt.

The three classifications for training are:

1. Equipment operator

2. Heavy duty mechanic

3. Plant equipment operator
