Civil Mechanic

Powerhouse Electrician

Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technician

Instrumentation & Control Technician

Machinist

Nuclear Power Plant Mechanic

Welder / Fitter

How do I qualify? Minimum requirements.

Must not be less than eighteen (18) years of age at the time of selection.

Must have a high school education or equivalent.

Must have completed prerequisite requirements

Must pass the MASS test.

Must submit all documentation and information required in the application for apprenticeship prior to the deadline set by the Maintenance Apprenticeship Committee.

Must meet essential functions for the position bid (i.e. drug and alcohol screening, Fit Test, etc.)

What are the program specifics?

Lengths of programs differ from 4000 to 8000 hours. All are performance based.

What do I need to apply?

Must meet the above mentioned requirements, and have completed these Community College Courses:

BPC101AA - Introduction to Microcomputers I - 1 credit hour

COM101 - Interpersonal Communication in the workplace - 1 credit hour.

ENG101 - First Year Composition - 3 credit hours

GTC106 - Industrial Safety - 2 credit hours

GTC107 - Technical Math I - 3 credit hours

GTC216 - Properties of Materials - 3 credit hours

PHS110 - Physical Science - 4 credit hours.
