What is an Heat & Frost Insulator?
A Heat & Frost insulator installs thermal insulation throughout the commercial and industrial industries. They install this thermal insulation on pipes, ducts, boilers, tanks, vessels, equipment, or any surface requiring thermal protection. In addition, they also install various protective finishes and jacketing such as aluminum, stainless steel, pvc, or canvas as part of a complete thermal insulation system.
How do I qualify?
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or GED (must be acquired during 1st year of training).

  • Must be willing to work throughout the State of Arizona.

  • 1 year pre-apprenticeship period (1040 hours) prior to interviewing.

  • Complete application and interview process.

  • Pass drug test and obtain physicians statement as to the ability to work at the trade.

What are the program specifics?
  • Length of program - 5 years (first 6 months probationary period).

  • 10,000 hours of on-the-job training.

  • Related training classes with college credits.

  • Wages begin at 50% of journeyman scale.

  • Annual wage increases.

  • Paid medical and pension benefits.

What do I need to apply?
  • Copy of birth certificate.

  • Copy of high school diploma or GED.

  • High school or college transcripts.

  • Program is approved for Veterans benefits.

Where do I apply?

1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
